Aquila Ismail has worked as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering in NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. She has written extensively on literature, women and development issues for newspapers and magazines. She has translated a number of Urdu works of fiction including Harvest of Anger and other Stories, Godavari, and Zindabahar Lane.   Her non-fiction works include documentation of the work of Orange Pilot Project (OPP) a development NGO of Karachi.
