Originally from Allahabad, India, Jawahara Saidullah currently resides in American with her family. She is the author of the novel The Burden of Foreknowledge (Roli Books, 2007). Her writing has also appeared in anthologies, literary journals and magazines. In another incarnation, she was also a weekly columnist on culture and identity issues from the U.S., for Mid-Day newspaper in Mumbai. For four years, Jawahara was a columnist for Mid-Day newspaper in Mumbai, India, read by over one million people every week. In June 2008 she was invited by the Ledig-Rowohlt Foundation to be a writer-in-residence at the Chateau de Lavigny in Switzerland. In addition her short stories and short memoir pieces have been published in journals and publications online and off. After spending five years in Geneva, Switzerland Jawahara now live in beautiful, historic and literary Concord, MA.
