Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Stockholm University. He is Honorary Senior Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), National University of Singapore and is currently a Visiting Professor at Government College University, Lahore. He holds a PhD in political science and is the author of The Punjab Bloodied, Partitioned and Cleansed: Unravelling the 1947 Tragedy through Secret British Reports and First-Person Account and The Garrison State, Origins, Evolution, Consequences (1947-2011), both published by Oxford University Press, Karachi. He also writes in the Lahore-based English-language daily, Daily Times and the weekly, The Friday Times.
