The French in India between 1550 and 1857.   
The French in India transferred military technology to Indian states and were thus instrumental in a « military revolution similar to the one in Europe in the 15th to 17th centuries, aborted with the advent of the British rule in India.  
They shared their knowledge and skills with the Indian states they served. And the enormous curiosity and warmth of these Frenchmen for the people among whom they lived is revealed page after page.   They where also great collectors of paintings and manuscripts and The French & Delhi volume has 215 illustrations.
